Does a tougher sixth-form entry bar mean better A-level results?
We scored every grammar school’s sixth-form entry requirement and joined it to their A-level results. A higher bar tracks higher raw results (r=0.61) — but barely predicts how much a school adds (r=0.09).

We joined the admissions rule of all 163 grammar schools to their DfE results. Score-ranked schools beat distance-ranked ones — and the gap survives even after adjusting for intake.
